I%26#39;m going back to Thailand and will be staying mainly in Bangkok. Are there elephant rides near Bangkok? I missed doing this the last time i was here and i would love to try it.

If by any chance you are visiting the Dreamworld theme park they offer elephant rides, also Samphran Elephant Ground (easy half day trip), Rose Garden and if you do the Bridge on the River Kwai tour many of them include an elephant trek as well.

Elephant Rides

There%26#39;s one at the Siam Niramit Theatre.

The elephant is quite small but very friendly..although the ride is only short distance and costs around 100 bhat..It is the same elephant used for the theatre/show.

There%26#39;s a package offered where u pay 1500 bhat and the package includes a spectacular Thai%26#39;s culture show, a buffet dinner and transportation to and from your hotel.Consider it a discount as the show is really amazing.Tickets can be booked from your hotel.

The show starts at 8.30 daily and a van will pick u up earlier around 5.30.When u reached there, u will have dinner and some time to explore the place before coming inside the theatre.Boy, there%26#39;s plenty of things to do inside there..Elephant ride, thai massage, feeding the elephants, boat ride, etc..

Try it, u will not regret it.
