Snorkeling in May/June

Hello...I will be in Thailand at the end of May/early June and was wondering if anyone can suggest a great spot for snorkeling. I know some places are better at certain times of the year. Can anyone recommend a great tour group that offers a one day snorkeling/diving tour? Many thanks

May /June is said to be the peak of the gulf side.

I bought my package for this April from Nanguan Dive Resort but also saw many other 3D/2N trips available at local tour websites like kohtaotoday and lomprayah dot com. They includes bus transport from Bangkok, boat transfers, 2 nights accommodation, meals, and a day trip for snorkelling with equipment.

Yes, but 10 years ago, just starting of their peak time.

The scenery was really really beautiful. It was just like what you see on the picture, white sand and clear sea. At that time, snorkeling was already great just walking out of the beach. However, in the last 10 years the island became popular for day trips. Not only from Ko tao which is just 5 minutes away, day trips from Samui island (big and second popular from Phuket) to Nangyuan and Ko tao for snorkeling run many times a day. So Nangyuan is too crowded on daytime but after 4-5 pm it is left only for the resort guests only.

The resort is getting old and the food is expensive ( would not recommend going without package) but again it is said to be going for a hotel chain soon and then the place will be another that a mid-range traveler like us cannot afford. It might even be exclusive for the resort, who know!

So much for the Nangyuan ^-^ sorry it%26#39;s gone too far.
