There is also a very long steep driveway up to reception to negotiate however there is a vehicle that will come and pick you up from the security post. They (the guards) just ring up reception for you and after a few mins you are whisked up the hill. I stayed quite close to reception but even then there are steps to go down then up and sometimes down again. If you parents are reasonable on their feet it CAN be managed and I would go back there myself again. Also it is a fair walk to the centre of Patong even though there is a shuttle. Small charge for this. Up the gunners.

My husband %26amp; I stayed at the Novotel last August 2007 (1st time to Phuket) %26amp; we are going back to Patong again this year in August but have decided to book the Holiday Inn. The Novotel had great views and the 3 pools were also very nice as they cascaded down the hills but its just very inconvenient everytime you want to go from the pool or reception to your room not to mention the walk to get into the centre of Patong, around 10mins walk or tuk tuk ride which cost 150BHT one way. Also to get up to the reception area from the street level is alot of stairs but you can get the shuttle bus to take you up..We are fit people and even we found the going up and down each day was annoying especially due to the heat..It just depends on how much time you will be staying around the hotel but if you were wanting to go down to the centre of Patong a couple of times a day the location is not that great. The ground floor rooms near reception also require you to walk up slight hills...
