Day Trekking in Chiang Mai

I%26#39;m wondering if it%26#39;s worthwile to take a day Trek in Chiang Mai? My travel partner is not thrilled with spending the night on a trek but would rather go on a day trek. Is it worth it? How much time do you need to see the jungles, ride elephants, etc.? Anyone have a particular trekking guide or area to recommend?

Thanks.

Day Trekking in Chiang Mai

If you choose a location like Mae Wang you will not spend all day in a car, there are options for instance which include getting to location, trekking - an hour or so, waterfalls, lunch in local villages and then elephant rides and a bamboo rafting experience to finish the day - you will get wet so take some spare clothes to travel back in. Day trips like this usually start at about 0830 and return at 1700. Amporn Tours run a good tour to this area for the day. Pick up and drop off at your hotel included. Have fun.
