Dvd's

We have just come back from Phuket via other great city for DVD%26#39;s as a couple, our bags came to Sydney with us but missed the next flight to Bris, our bags cleared Customs by themselves with 105 DVD%26#39;s no problem.

Dvd's

buying pirated dvd%26#39;s is stealing

Dvd's

Your point is ? do you have clever dvd%26#39;s that can play hide and seek with custom officials ? wrong forum buddy stick to your other great city

What%26#39;s with you guys? rgltravel is trying to pass on a bit of information he/she thinks is valuable to some.

Did the place you got them from have an email address

Hi rlgtravel - thanks for letting the forum know - there have been many questions asked of late regarding the confiscation of DVD%26#39;s at customers etc.

Penalties for Copyright Infringement / Australia

Penalties vary, and depend on whether it is an individual or a corporation that is convicted. For some indictable offences, an individual who is guilty may be fined up to $93,500 or imprisoned for up to 5 years, or both. For importation of material that infringes copyright, fines of up to $71,500 and/or imprisonment for 5 years may be imposed on an individual. Penalties can be much higher where the infringement involves the digitisation of copyright material from hardcopy (for example, from cassette to CD or from video to DVD). An individual who is

found guilty of a summary offence may be fined up to $13,200 or imprisoned for up to 2 years or both.

A corporation may be fined up to 5 times the amount of a maximum fine.

Lighten up people Customs aren%26#39;t stupid. They know we bring back copied dvd%26#39;s as long as you aren%26#39;t bringing them in to resell or go over board on how many you bring back your okay. If they really wanted to stop pirating in any country they wouldn%26#39;t allow blank dvd%26#39;s to be so readily available. Happy Holidays Bez.
