Please advise; Is Early June Too Hot To Handle?

Planning to visit BKK with spouse and 3 kids (11, 6 and 4) in the first week of June but judging by the various posts it seems that it may not be good idea-weather wise. My problem is that the school is off in June-July and have not other options....any words of reassurance??

On a separate note, have zeroed in on Swiss Park hotel -off Sukhimvit and Reno hotel - near the National Stadium in view of their close proximity with the BTS and my budget which is about US$ 100/day for the family. Any other suggestions in similar range? Has to be close to the BTS.

Will really appreciate your responses.

Nadeem.

Nadeem;

June temperatures and weather is ok, I go then all the time, also July. The hottest months are April and May. But it really depends on the climate your coming from as to your comfort level. They have air conditioning in most places your would go as a tourist, the BTS, the malls and restaurants and hotels. Sigtseeing at temples and Grand palace of course is outdoors and best done in the mornings when it slightly cooler vs the heat of the day in afternoon.

Did you check the TA traveler reviews of the reno hotel? sounds like they have a bug problem....not a good idea , especially with kids along. tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g293916-d549726鈥?/a> I%26#39;d suggest that you look at krit thai mansion, which is also across the street from the nat%26#39;l stadium and next to the bts station. Looks like it%26#39;ll save quite bit on your budget allowance, too. Take a look at the TA traveler reviews: tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g293916-d549716鈥?/a> and their website: http://kritthaimansion.com/ I personally wouldn%26#39;t worry about the weather, there are ways to cool off and if the Thais can take it, I think you can too! ;) take care

Hi;

June is definitely in Hot season in Bangkok and with

a high humidity it can be very uncomfortable with the visitors who come from a low humidity atmosphere .I was born and raised in this type of weather in the SE.Asia , but, still it is much better in S. California , the best all around.

However, I still like to travel to Bangkok at any kind of weather that the city may offer.

Trat;

I was born and raised in Calif and have lived all over US. The June weather in Bangkok and elsewhere really isn%26#39;t any more uncomfortable than Calif in the valley during same month, or say Houston TX, South Florida, or Virgina. I hardly notice it. The humidity is higher, but if dress comfortably, not a problem. Unless you plan on running a marathon in Bangkok. LOL. Now I admit I don%26#39;t walk around the streets in the peak heat of the day---that%26#39;s foolish. But I go somewhere comfortable, hotel, malls, or a bar where I can spend afternoon in aircon and with a cold drink. Or even get a massage until it cools down in evening.

Hi;

The majority of visitors to Bangkok and Thailand as a matter Not come here for the weather . It is still okay if you like the tropical temp.zone not that kind of N.America with cool air on shore S. Calif.

I don%26#39;t need to spend a big ticket housing in S.Ca.

if not a good weather and great employment opportunity are available in here.

But anyway, Bangkok is a place for visitors at anytime during the year , I am going to Bangkok this May, 2008 for my holiday/vacation too.

Enjoy,

There will be soe rain in June but it usually lasts an hour or so, and won%26#39;t be a problem. Avoid the Reno. Try checking the hotels in TA%26#39;s listing and check prices at http://www.asiarooms.com or some similar site to save money.

Hi we too are going in June for our wedding anniversary, arrive in Bangkok on the 7th June. We come from New Zealand so humidity is something I am very used to, however when we leave in June it will NZ%26#39;s winter so it will definately be a shock to the system I%26#39;m sure.

We are staying at the Pathumwan Princess, can%26#39;t wait :-)

Thank you all for the responses:

Ravenet: Thanks a lot for the reassuring words on the weather, you are very kind indeed.

Bkk Resident: Really appreciate your advice on Reno, my wife and kids can%26#39;t take the bugs; did check out Krit Thai mansion on the net as it seems ok but any words on the Swiss Park hotel? Or any other alternative near the BTS stations.

qidget01: Have a swell anniversary, best wishes to you and good luck.
