Ayuttahya buses!

We will be Bangkok next week. We want to head up to Ayuttahya but dont want to deal with a ';tour';...especially because they rush you there. Does anyone remember the buses that go up there directly, and from where they leave, bus #, etc....

Also, the buses heading back to bangkok in the evening from Ayuttahya....

Thanks.

Ayuttahya buses!

Hi;

There is train to Ayuttahya , I beleive from Hua Lam Phong main station near China town . You can check the schedule in there . I did take a private tour in

Ayuttahya and Bang Pa In the summer palace on the way . I was glad to pay 1,000 baht for the travel agency for this tour including a lunch and It was only me with the tour guide %26amp; driver. Must be a slow day for them. I probaly get lost and know nothing about this old capital without the tour guide to explain and show everything in there. there was not much to see in the old building slabs and red brick .

But alot of history to learn in 1,000 years back.

Ayuttahya buses!

At Bang Pa In, there is a dress code, right? I dont remember excatly.....No shorts? No short sleeve shirts? Men/women?

Hi;

Yes . there is a dress code for visitors who like to visit Bang Pa In. I think women must worm a traditional Thai%26#39;s saron dress . But , they will lend you in there .

Men just need long pant and shirt . No short, T shirt will be allowed to get in the Palace.

I was very gald to visit this place with a very beautiful garden and several old teak houses. The beauty of these houses are a mix of European and Oriental Architectutal styles of the 19th. century

Hi;

The Ayuttahna and Bang Pa In visits were the highlights of my Bangkok trip in year 2007. The typical tour should take full whole day from 6am.til

3pm. I also visited several famous temples in the area and they are quite impressive . This is also give me an opportunity to see something outside the

Bangkok city . BTW, I shall be visiting Bangkok in this spring 2008 , the third time since 2007.

Enjoy,

Buses leave hourly to Ayutthaya from the Morchit bus terminal. Trains are also frequent; all trains going north stop at Ayutthaya. There%26#39;s a gap in the middle of the day, but otherwise trains run basically every hour starting at Hualamphong and calling at Bang Sue (connection with the MRT line) and Don Muang (across the road from the old airport). At Ayutthaya train station, there are English-speaking licensed tour guides with vans or tuktuks. They%26#39;ll take you around to the temples all day for 1000 baht and bring you back to the station in the evening. They%26#39;re fine, not scammers and they%26#39;re very knowledgable. It%26#39;s always very hot in Ayutthaya; bring water, head covering, facial wipes.

Thanks for refreshing my mememory! It%26#39;s been years, and i cant wait to be there next week! Thanks again guys!
