The smoking ban doesn%26#39;t start until Monday the 11th, my friends here in Pattaya who own bars have so far received nothing from the police or local council informing them of what to expect when it comes into effect and how it will be enforced by them.

thanks ThaiExpat , hopefully i can get some info next week sometime , thanks for the reply

I was on Walking Street yesterday and was smoking in an open air bar. Also went into a gogo bar (all are indoors) and smoked there too, so no probs really.

thanks diver1 , i like a smoke when i am having a beer and thats a bit of good news

thanks again

Most thai run places let you smoke. Technically smoking inside bars is illegal, so is prostitution and corruption lol

The farang owned places are enforcing the ban as they are more vulnerable to being ';fined';.

thanks 50 , so what bars on walking street would you recommend that are not western owned ??

thanks to everybody who has replied so far
