Nintendo DS games - anyone know if they work on a UK DS?

I have been told to ask this question about Nintendo DS games by my 11yr-old, who wants to know whether to spend his money before we get to Bangkok, or wait till we get there... If I give him the wrong advice, my life will be ';difficult';!

If we buy Nintendo DS games in Bangkok, should they work in a Nintendo DS bought in the UK?

And secondly, anyone know the sort of prices they can be bought for - full price in a mall, and best available price in, say, Chatuchak?

We have bought plenty of Gameby Games in Thailand and they work in an Australian Gameboy. We also bought a couple of DS games in Malaysia last year and they also were fine. Make sure you ask to test them before buying. Not sure how they would go with a UK Gameboy.

if your%26#39;e going to be buying pirated games in thailand, just get a supercard or r4ds, before you go, it will work out much cheaper in the long run.

i was interested in buying a r4ds and wanted to know if the r4ds is cheaper to buy in thailand or australia? or is it about the same? also, does the memory sd card come with the r4 when u buy it or do u have to pay for that separately? because i found an r4ds in australia for $60. is that cheap?

I am very interested in some advice off someone who knows that they are doing!

We came back a few weeks ago and yes, nintendo games bought in Thailand will work with UK nintendos!!!!My 8 year-old was in heaven.....

In MBK, we bought him an R4 card and he could choose 20 games to go in it.Just go to any shop selling games in MBK, there are loads. They showed him a catalogue and he just chose the ones he liked. They have all the latest games too. It cost around 2500bht.

He also got individual games and I think these were around 拢6 and also a card which has 92 games on it, for 3000bht, so tell him to wait to spend his pocket money over there!They all work perfectly well and I%26#39;m just glad he won%26#39;t be asking for any new games for a long while....!!
