riverside restaurants

Which is an authentic riverside restaurant in Chiang Mai. Is there anything that is not too touristy? I presume not, though the best food?

It doesn%26#39;t get more authentic than Huan Soontharee Vechanont, a lovely multilevel restaurant about 2 km downriver from the city centre, which is owned by a famous Lanna folk singer (she performs every night). It%26#39;s a very magical place with the river and the fairytale points of light, there%26#39;s no western food served, and one of the dominant notes is ';spicy.'; 46/1 Wang Singkhum Road, call 053-252445 for reservations, and make sure your hotel reception writes out the name in Thai for your taxi. See thaiwave.com/benjarong/鈥uansoontaree.htm

Avoid the Riverside and its neighbours. Overpriced tourist traps.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your suggestion. Will note down before we go, sounds good and what we were looking for.

but river side is a great place that they have good live music and ofcourse nice food too. i just love it there!

We went to Regina%26#39;s on the non-city side of the Ping River. It was awesome, not too big, great food and not at all touristy. It%26#39;s beside the Pink Tea Room on the same stretch as the Good View Restaurant.

Hi - The Riverside and it%26#39;s neighbours might be touristy, but they are filled with both tourists and locals, they are loud, have live music and are fun.
