There are lots of companies doing roughly the same sort of trip with minor differences. There was one company that had a bigger boat (non-speed boat), who I think were called Blue star. Its a tough call to pick whats right for you and of course you have to weigh your personal prefereces etc. We were unlucky to have poor weather whilst we were there, and the sea was quite choppy. So we had to think 2 hours to travel out on a bigger boat with toilet etc or only one hour on a speed boat. We opted for the quicker method. Yes it was very bumpy and one woman was very sick on the way out. On the way back everyone was offered sea sick pills just before we left as the sea had got a little worse. Everyone took them as it became clear that we had all struggled on the journey out. BUT we were all fine on the way back. I was so so keen to do this trip and I was so relieved that we got there despite the weather. I would really reccomend it. If you are concerned get some travel sick pills and perhaps skip breakfast. The marine park is very beautiful and serene in some places and busy in others, definately worth a trip and a must see! The lunch we were given on one of the islands was one of the best we had. Our boat had only 2 engines and broke down half way over which was quite worrying, but we got there. I noticed some of the speed boats were bigger, with 4 engines, not sure if that would be more stable/safe/fast etc?

thanks for ur comments..im goin thr mid of may...hope d weather is alright...

pray hard...

I went to Ang Thong in February. We went on the larger boat but because the sea was quite rough we were unable to land at the island with the walk to the viewpoint and were taken to a different island where there was nowhere to walk to. It was fine for all the people that liked kayaking but disappointing for anybody like me that likes walking. It was beautiful but a long way to go to sit on a beach for 2 hours. On the way back the sea was very rough and 2 people were sick. If I went again I%26#39;d definitely take sea sickness pills!

We went in the beginging of march on the speed boat.We went twice the first time it was a good journey no problem at all.The second time the weather was quite bad comming back and it was really rough boat going up on its side.Would take a tablet if your worried. The skipper of the boat was very good and got us all back ok.Depends on the weather. If its that bad they wont go out.

Yes this is true, if the weather is too bad they dont run the trip. May also add I was very impressd by the kindness shown to the travel sick woman on my trip. There were 3 crew on board, clearly I to steer the boat etc, but the other 2 got her ice for her neck and sat with her rubbing her shoulders and helping keep her hair out the way. One sat with her for comfort the whole time. You would rarely see 2 complete male strangers in England support a fellow human being in distress like that. And for the record she wasnt some cute teenager in a bikini, so there attention was totally out of genuine concern and kindness!

We went to Ang Thong in September with lomprayah - it was booked through a local agent on bophut pier, but you can book it anywhere on the island or pre-book on the web. The trip was excellent all round, and we would highly reccomend it. We went by speedboat - the sea was a little choppy as it was quite windy, but the ride was fine. If you are worried you could wait until you are there and see what the weather is like before booking.

We have done the speed boat version and were offered sea sickness pills by the crew before we got going and im glad i took them as it was indeed a little bumpy. We were told that the trip was a lot easier by speed boat in the fact that you could get to places where the bigger normal boats couldnt and also its alot quicker.

Could not fault the day out it was amazing - kayaking amongst the islands was absolutley amazing!
