The best honeymoon places - urgent

Hi all

I am trying to find a nice honeymoon destination in late July. Thought of Thailand but I am worried about the monsoon season affecting Bangkok.

Looked at other places

1. South Africa - only 19c temperatures

2. Malaysia - is there enough to visit and do in Kuala Lumpur?

3. Dubai - been there already

What are places are suitable? Would like a great mix of beach, sights, shopping and great food....

Can anyone help me please....

Thanks

Hi I saw your message...

Best honeymoon (which my husband organised last year)

Singapore (great for shopping)

Maldives (Wow)

for great weather in July - try Singapore for a few nights and then Bali (try Sanur beach)

Why would you want to go to Bankok for your honeymoon? Anywhere in Asia or in the tropical zone is a risk weather wise but it is a risk worth taking as the rain is often sporadic. You could consider the Greek Islands. Santorini is a knockout. Athens is an historical awesome and is worth a full 2 day stop-over on the way to the islands. The food and people are also great.

If you really want something outstanding come on down to the land of OZ. Australia. It%26#39;s a long way but you will never forget it. Go to Cairns, the Barrier Reef, or one of the Witsunday Islands. The shrimps here are as big as a banana and the mud crabs are to die for.

Hi,

Think about Canary Islands, it%26#39;s exactly the mix of beaches, shopping, sights and food is also great. Some hotels are fantastic, people are friendly, no health risk at all (diarrhea in honeymoon? - not the best option :-)), wheather is not too hot, so if your honeymoon can be out of Asia, this could be a perfect choice. If Asia, then Maldives (Sun Island Resort: great!!).

Thanks guys. Your feedback has been great.

Any other suggestions would be helpful...

Does anybody know whether Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur is nice????....Somebody suggested I do Singapore and Kuala Lumpur on the same trip?????

Re honeymoon, just pick up a good class cruise ship get a stateroom with a balcony and let the cruise line pamper you, they do this so well. Whatever age or occasion a cruise offers it all.... happy days.

Hi,

We have been to Malaysia several times and also Thailand. I prefer Kuala Lumpar to Bangkok, not quite as chaotic and lots to see. I would not recommend spending all your time in the city. Why not do a 2 centre which is what we usually do. 3 or 4 days in Kuala Lumpar and maybe the rest in somewhere like Pangkor laut on the west coast of Malaysia or Borneo where we have been 3 times for somewhere a bit different. It depends what you are into. I prefer Thailand for the culture and the people but it also has lovely beaches on the islands.

Borneo has the Orang utans, beautiful beaches and wildlife. Bali is another good choice, good weather and beautiful scenery and the Maldives would take some beating for beaches and diving if that is all you need.

The Far East has everything, we love it and go back time and time again. We also loved Sri Lanka who desperately need tourists to go back. Beautiful country, good beaches but quite a bit of poverty which you will see everywhere in places but Sri Lanka slightly worse than some.

Julie

New Zealand most definitely - it is beautiful. But July, not too sure what the weather is like then. Thailand amazing - Bangkok (3/4 nights is plenty) then onto Koh Samui (Chaba Samui hotel) - just glorious. Only rains hard for about 5 minutes then is dry agian in 10.

If your desire is Asia then I would recommend

4-5 days in Singapore (Shangri-La) followed by

the same amount of time on Langkawi Island,Malaysia.

Check out the Datai resort or the new Four Seasons.

A good mix of shopping and nightlife in Singapore

and total relaxation on the beach in Langkawi.
