JFK to Bangkok

We are planning on flying in Feb 2009 on Thai airlines. I%26#39;m wondering if you think it is best to purchase the tickets now or wait to see if they come down? We are also thinking of using Priceline to get a hotel in Bangkok on the river. Has anyone had any experience with naming a price? Thanks for any input.

Thai Air always has high prices. Sometimes they run a special but not often enough! But they do have that direct flight now that is pretty popular.

It is sort of a gamble, do you think oil prices will be higher or lower in February? Most of the price breaks we used to get in the past was when the price of oil was cheaper.

For Bangkok get a hotel that has easy access to the Skytrain. The Skytrain can take you around town quick and easy. (Skytrain is an elevated local train service.)

Good luck.

We flew into BKK on that flight last Friday. The food and service were very good (two meals and a big snack). I%26#39;d watched prices for two months or so, bought in January and continued to watch until late February; the price might have fluctuated a dollar or so: $1,600+ pp, Premium Economy; do give the PE some consideration, the extra legroom was well worth the additional cost on the 17+ hour flight.
