Need hotel in Chaing mai end of Apil...in the city[night bazaar] or further out along river or toward university? not sure which location is best...

Take a room at the Royal Lanna (which overlooks the night bazaar), google them to get a rate around 1000 baht per night including a good breakfast.

For something marginally better, the Porn Ping Hotel is 100 metres from Royal Lanna and rates shouldn%26#39;t be more than about 1300 for the same thing.

I won%26#39;t recommend the Royal Lanna, now that the Meridien has been erected just in front you can%26#39;t see anything but that big yellow (quite ugly)building... before you had a large and nice view on the city and the mountains, it has all been stolen by The Meridien... nasty.

Forget about staying around the University, that%26#39;s not convenient.

Without a price range it%26#39;s not easy to recommend something. Rooms range from 500 to 5,000 baht.

The De Naga is good (around 3,000 Baht)

The Mandala House is nice (800 baht)

Yeah, much better off getting a room on the river (porn ping) side, better view at the worst of times.

I stayed at the Centara Duangtawan Hotel .

It,s very central , near the night market , loads of shops , places to eat and drink near. Was about 拢45 a night

try Montrara Happy House can walk to night barzaar not far from Tha Phae Gate.
