Found a place to swim with dolphins

Hi the place is called Oasis Seaworld and is in Chantaburi City.

Could anyone tell me how long it would take to travel to here by bus (or train if possible). Since it is past Pattaya and we are going there sometime in our 40 days maybe we would be better off travelling from there?

Any suggestions appreciated

Thanks

Karin

There are intercity buses going there, Don%26#39;t think you can make it by train (theres not even a proper train service between Bangkok and Pattaya). Travelling time by bus would likely be about 4-5 hours.

You are much better to travel from Pattaya, I think it would be too far from Bangkok (about 5 hours)

Just be cautious if you get tickets it includes the swimming with Dolphins. We were told we only need to tell them when we get there that we wanted to swim with them, and they only had one space left. Fortunately, after waiting about 15 minutes they were able to accomodate us.

Otherwise, it is only the Dolphin show.

Thanks for advice guys. It says on website that it is an extra 400bt to swim with dolphins which is realy nothing compared to what you have to pay in Australia. Did you enjoy it? How long do you get? As we will be travelling all this way just to do it do not want it to be a waste of time.

Any advice/suggestions appreciated

Cheers

Bump, I am curious about the answers to this as well so I would like to hear what everyone has to say :)

There are other things to do in Chantaburi as well. Waterfalls, beaches (no white powdery sand but nice and quiet with cheap food), mangroves park, etc. Or you can then travel to Trad%26#39;s islands :)

Sorry, for the late reply.

We really enjoyed it there, not sure how long we got there, maybe 30 minutes. You start of with one dolphin and do a few tricks with that one, then move on to another and another all with different activities and tricks as well as swimming with them, so you get to do a mixture of tricks with different dolphins.

What is really nice is that most the dolphins were actually rescued after being accidentally caught in fishermen%26#39;s nets.

You will need to take a t-shirt you don%26#39;t mind getting wet and make sure your nails are short (otherwise they will have to clip them for you).

Hope you have a fantastic time!

Sorry, just to add,

When swimming with the dolphins you hold onto their fin and they pull you along (it is quite fast!), they don%26#39;t push you along with their heads like I think they do in say Florida etc. But for 400B I think it is still good value for money!

Thanks Lou for the information, I had heard of the place but yet to visit. It would be a good stop between Pattaya and Trat/Koh Chang.

There is a new Centara opened mainland Trat and we plan to go down in a few weeks so will try the Dolphins, would love to do that!

Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for that info Lou. Did you book your tickets before you went? As there are 2 adults 2 children I thought it would be better if we did it in 2 groups so we can take photos of each other. Is this possible?

Monica,

if you do get there can you please let us know how you go and what you thought. Would really appreciate it

Cheers

Definately book beforehand because they only have a limited number of places for each session.

Not sure if you can do it in 2 groups of two, we asked our tour guide to take pictures of us, which they were more than happy to do.
