Pathumwan Princess to new airport

Hi,

My husband and I are flying from Bangkok (International airport) to Phuket on Monday 14th April (during Songkran). Our flight departs at 10:40am. Just wondering what time we should leave the Pathumwan Princess Hotel to get to the airport in enough time considering what morning traffic is like?

Also I have read that when we arrive in Bangkok we go to the public taxi queue for a metered taxi and get a slip of paper from the attendant. But when we leave our hotel to go to the airport will there be a metred taxi outside the hotel for us to catch?

Thanks

Sheridan

Give yourself a one conservitive hour to get to the Airport (It should take around 40 minutes).

There WILL be metered taxi%26#39;s around the MBK area, you may have to walk away from one or two that try it on, for a set price, but it%26#39;s worth it.

There%26#39;s no 50 baht Airport tax for the return trip, but there will be clearly marked (price) tolls for you to pay again.

Ask your hotel to call a cab. Its important you don%26#39;t have any hassle when leaving. Don%26#39;t forget a minimum 1 hour check-in, to allow for long immigration queues, and security.

It%26#39;s a domestic flight, so no immigration to slow you down.

The hotel will call you a cab ( I have stayed there twice). I did this with no problem. I did get chucked out of the first taxi as the guy refused to put the meter on.

The next one was fine with the meter.

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for all your advice, I really appreciate it:)

Cheers,

Sheridan.
