Hi
Has anyone stayed at the Landmark Hotel in Bangkok? What%26#39;s it like? I hear the steaks at the RR%26amp;B restaurant are good? Any comments?
Thanks
Landmark Hotel
I stayed there a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. The service and attention to detail were fantastic. It also had the best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel. We did not use the restaurants though. We arrived late afternoon. The next day we were shopping in MBK and a man came up to us and asked if he could help us in any way. It turned out that he was the door man at the Landmark and had seen us arrive the night before. We had fresh flowers in our room and bathroom each day. The only thing that I didn%26#39;t like was the position. We had previously stayed at the Pathuwam Princess and we thought the position there was better.

Landmark Hotel
It is very nice steak, if you try , you will rememeber it forever. The restaurant is contemporary design, exhilarating interiors and incredible
Sweeping views of Bangkok to its cutting edge kitchens serving the very Best steaks and gourmet French cuisine, the RR %26amp; B has it all.
Open for dinner, RR %26amp; B is exceptional in every sense.you will relish forever.
Enjoy with your meal!!!!
Down the stairs/escalator from the lobby level is the british Huntsman Pub, which used to have a sunday carvery and special prices on beer. I%26#39;m not sure if they still do it, but I suspect they do.
The Landmark Hotel is in a great location and the huntsman pup has a very good resident band (4 filipino brothers play the instruments accompanied by 3 female singers) unfortunately the Landmark Hotel fails to impress in the most important catagory ACCOMMODATION ! Great if you are in a suite but the standard rooms fall well short of an equivalent 5* Hotel - the Landmark being only 4*)
The steak restaurant on 36th(?) floor is very good. Having said that, so are the prices (high!). I ate there with my girlfriend, wine before dinner, bottle of wine with dinner, appetizers (oysters on half-shell and fragua (sp) (duck liver); then big steaks (two tenderloins) vegetable sides, no desert. They include tip as 10% service charge. Total bill = THB12,000. About US$370.
So be forewarned. It%26#39;s the most expensive meal I%26#39;ve ever had. Bottle of wine was about THB2700 or around US$70.
My girl had been to a more expensive meal with another old well-to-do boyfriend at another hotel restaurant in Bangkok. He liked the very best apparently. She said the meal for two was THB32,000 or nearly US$1,000.
Who knew that as cheap as you can eat here in Bangkok, that you can also really go over the top if you want! LOL.

The Landmark gets good reviews all round.
The coffee shop (greenhouse) and the Huntsman pub are good and the steaks in the whole hotel whether on the 36th floor or the basement or greenhouse or outside area are great.
They even have water spray fans on the open air veranda overlooking the road to help keep the area cool. Great place to people watch.
The ground floor coffee has free WIFI and a book shop.
I%26#39;ve never stayed there but have eaten there many times and have never had a problem.
The bills can be large but then if bottles of wine are drunk then bills will be large as there is high tax on all booze.
