Krabi to Singapore via Phuket cost

We, a family of four, need to pick up a flight in Singapore to get home next January.

I have recently found out that Tiger doesn%26#39;t fly from Krabi to Singapore and am thinking of travelling to Phuket rather than flying to Bangkok then Singapore. (Hope that makes sense!)

Can anyone tell me what the cost of a taxi would be from Krabi to Phuket? Is it quicker to hire a boat to get there? If so, does anyone know what the cost of that would be. (I realise that the ferries go via Phi Phi and would probably take longer than a taxi.)

The flights from Phuket to Singapore seem to leave about 9am, so I guess we would have to leave quite early.

I know that there are other postings on this topic, but can%26#39;t seem to find anything recent with the costs of both alternatives and I need to do some budgeting.

The only real option would be to take a taxi from Krabi at about 5am - cost approx 2500 baht

Krabi to Singapore via Phuket cost

We are having the same problem we want to go to Krabi but from Singapore so will have to fly into Phuket and get a car to Krabi. Are you say that a taxi would only cost around 拢44.00 from Krabi to Phuket?

kaoz,

the other altrenative is to leave Krabi and stay overnight or longer in phuket, that way you can get to the a/port for the early morning flight easier.

Plenty of places to stay in Pkt, and can get any last-minute shopping doen then.

We are staying in Krabi (ex Bkk) then moving to Pkt on the Thursday, staying Pkt Thurs %26amp; Fri and catching the Sat morning Tiger flight to Singapore.

It%26#39;s a lot easier to get up in Pkt, have an early breakky, and get to the aport in time for the 9.20am flight, than ex Krabi. And if you aren%26#39;t staying overnite in Singa, it could be a very long day for you on way home to Pth with Tiger.

We will probably organise a driver Krabi - Pkt, as that will take us direct to our Pkt hotel, anticipate cost abt 2500thb (A$100), though is always negotiable, and may be a little more depending upon time frame. Anticipate time abt 5hrs travel, depending upon stops.

As we don%26#39;t really have any great time problem then, we are still considering taking the daily ferry Krabi - Pkt (not via Phi Phi) a lot cheaper than a driver, but that depts Krabi afternoons (so stay Krabi longer), and we would then have to %26#39;catch%26#39; a driver, bus, etc from port arrival (Pkt town area) to Patong, which would take a bit longer, but would be part of the %26#39;adventure%26#39;.

Is also option of a private one-way speedboat for the day, stop off at a couple of islands on way to Pkt, make a day of it, but expect that to be a bit dearer than driver (4-5000thb). We intend to leave this til we get to Krabi and choose the best option then.

So if we go by private driver, would probably leave mid-morning, and get to hotel abt 3-4pm and that way would get sorted in hotel and be ready for Thurs nite out in Pkt. That seems more probable.

If we take ferry, cheaper, can walk around and have fun on the trip, but would not get to hotel til 6%26#39;ish, or later.

Private s/boat will depend upon cost, and one of our group doesn%26#39;t like boats too much, so she may determine it for us, as we will have had a few days in Krabi and expect to take a few day trip from there. She may have had enough.

Hope of some help

Cheers

Mark

Thank you for all of your advice.

As we don%26#39;t tend to be early risers I think that we will take your advice and travel to Phuket the day before. (We spent about 2 weeks there a couple of years ago which is why we didn%26#39;t want to be there for too long.)

Our flight out of Singapore isn%26#39;t until later in the evening so it would be better to have a good night sleep especially as we would have been travelling for 6 weeks on two different continents. We may be rather travel weary.
