Could somebody please reccomend a few hotel%26#39;s at ao Nang beach please looking for a 4/5 * hotel, nice pool and on the beach would be perfect less concerned with gym%26#39;s ;-)

We%26#39;ve not been yet but have 2 friends who highly recommend The Centara Krabi Beach Resort, 5* on its own beach, lovely rooms, long boat in and our of the resort but you can walk to the next beach(at low tide or up a footpath. It has mixed reviews on TA but we are nonetheless booked to go there in 3 weeks time.It looks fabulous

I can also recommend the Centara. Not the most convenient if you wish to walk into Ao Nang but gorgeous hotel, great beach, stunning views.

The Spa rooms are fabulous, watching the sunset from your own private jacuzzi, with views of the sea and G%26amp;T in hand - wish I was there now!!

I would also add a suggestion for the Centara Krabi. There are some very nice Krabi luxury hotels and resorts but many are not in Ao nang, but Ao nang is busy and you would find it much nicer somewhwere like the Centara. Tubkaak is another option but I would rate Centara over the Tubkaak. The Villas at Nakamanda are lovely but quite expensive, around US$ 250 May to october.

Rates will vary greatly if you are going in the high and peak season ( November to March ), the low weather season is May to october.

You would have to go into Ao Nang for restaurants.

You can walk into Ao Nang over a footpath, although we never used it. I understand it was made for hotel staff to get to work and is not well lit at night and a little rickety.

The hotel also runs a speedboat to Nopp Pier and from there you can get a tuk tuk into Ao Nang, the speedboat takes around 15 minutes and the tuk tuk around 5 minutes.

I%26#39;ve read many reviews about restaurants in Ao nang area and the best have been by Lost Farang (thanks for your invaluable info) who lives locally, recommendations I have noted are Sala Bua at the end of Ao Nang beach, Krua Thara at the end of Nopparat Thara beach, Navrang Mahal for Indian and another restaurant called Carnivor. I%26#39;m sure someone will correct me if have got any of this wrong, or add any other good recommendations.
