Acc for 5 - where in Phuket?

We are thinking of heading to Phuket in September for my Father in-laws 60th birthday. The group will include 5 adults (2 couples and a single).

Previously we鈥檝e stayed at the Kathani Phuket Beach Resort which we liked 鈥?the location (on the beach) and close to Karon. We may still consider this, but are considering a villa/large suite in a hotel so we can enjoy the hotel facilities.

Wondering what suggestions of places to stay in Phuket would be, particularly those with villa鈥檚 within the hotel complex, however we don鈥檛 want to stay in Patong (not do we want to be too reomote)!

We had the same problem with our family and ended up deciding on the Pacific Boutique Resort and Spa at Karon in their 2 br suite. It has good reviews. Have a look and see what you think

I would pressume you would want 2 rooms for the 2 couple and your Gather-in-Law his own room. You %26#39;can%26#39; find such villas but they can be quite expensive. Also always %26#39;do check%26#39; with care location of properties, in particular Kata and Karon as many can be well away from the beach and even needing transport to get to/from the beach, not only a cost but a hassle too.

Centara Kata is a walk to the beach, about 500m, it%26#39;s behind Club Med area, in September a normal twin/double room should cost you about AUD 66 for 2 ( about AUD 33 each ) including the service and taxes and breakfast. You could get a 2 bedroom suite for 4 people for about AUD 170 but that would be cramped. If you could get 2 twin/doubles plus a single room for total around AU$ 198 for all of you that%26#39;s quite good for a 4 star place.

You can always get %26#39;extra bed%26#39; in the 2 bedroom suite if your father-in-Law is happy to %26#39;rough it%26#39; !! :)

You have Malisa Village Suites but you would be further from the beach, and pricewise way well over Centara.

From Centara you can easily get to bars and restaurants and shops. The centara Group alos operate Sofitels in Thailand, they are a good %26#39;group%26#39;.

September will not be busy due to weather so I don%26#39;t think you will find that many families.

If you want to reduce costs the Beach Boutique Kata would do a family suite for 4 persons with taxc, service and breakfast for about AUD 77 fo 4 !! Plus a single/twin for about AUD 45. Quit a walk to the beach.

But unless you need to keep a very tight budget I think Centara working out about AUD 198 for all 5 of you, plus both couples having oqwn room, plus Father-in-Law his own room I think it%26#39;s good value.
